Este es mi libro cutre comprado con El País con reproducciones de cuadros de Mark Rothko.

Quizás en mi vida no pueda ver desde cerca alguno de los cuadros que más admiro de este pintor, así que por ahora deberé conformarme viendo por ejemplo estas reproducciones e imaginarme como debe ser la experiencia cromática en un cuadro de gran tamaño sobre tu percepción. Vamos a hacer una cosa retorcida. Cojamos este cuadro e imaginemos que algún desequilibrado se acerca un día al museo, lo arranca de la pared y lo quema. ¿Esa pintura de Mark Rothko ha dejado de existir? El original es un montón de cenizas, pero la reproducción sigue estando en mi mesa. ¿Era el original sólo la materialización de una idea, su representación?

O por volver a la música. Cuando se refieren a lo mucho o poco que les gusta una canción ¿a qué se refieren? ¿A la partitura? ¿A la interpretación que han hecho de ella unos músicos? ¿A una grabación determinada? ¿A una idea perfecta de la que se arrojan múltiples representaciones en directo o en estudio? ¿A aquello que el compositor tenía en mente al componerla? ¿Qué es una canción?

La canción me gusta, pero no tengo ni idea de a que aspiran en la vida.
